Doug Walden

Doug’s career spans corporate leadership roles in the operation of multi-national organizations, as well as small business enterprises (public and private). He has a wealth of experience in strategic planning and execution, change management, and brand renewal. In addition to his background in General Management, Doug brings considerable skill in business expansion and growth, product and service innovation and customer-centricity, backed by strong financial and operational capabilities.

Over the last 15 years, he has been focused in the small business market, as a business growth architect for a variety of companies and industries. Prior to 2000, Doug was a Vice President and General Manager for Ceridian Canada, a national organization, leading the merger of three large entities into one global enterprise. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia. He has board experience with a number of profit and non-profit organizations including the West Vancouver Police Board, BC Association of Police Boards, the Burnaby Hospital Foundation and Family Services of Vancouver.

Rick Hamilton

Rick has more than 30 years of business experience including serving as founding partner of two successful companies in the manufacturing sector. He also has over 20 years’ experience in senior management positions in the area of transportation logistics, brewing and graphic design. Rick has an undergraduate degree in marketing from the University of British Columbia and an MBA from Royal Roads University. He has served on the Board of Directors with Vancouver Island Brewing Company and is a long-serving board member of the Developmental Disabilities Association (DDA). He enjoys spending time exploring the great outdoors with his family.

Claire Binette-Sim

For over 30 years, Claire was an early childhood educator for the Delta School District in British Columbia. Her expertise is in specialized learning techniques for both advanced learners and children with learning disabilities. As a member of the innovative Learning Resources Team she has presented proven teaching methodologies to improve understanding and learning. Claire has a B.Ed. and Master’s Degree in Education from the University of BC.

Jennifer (Jen) Hamilton

Jen is a communications strategist with over 20 years in health care, infrastructure development and public broadcasting.  Her focus is on communication planning and strategy development, change management and stakeholder relations. Most recently she was the senior communications manager for the construction of the new BC Children’s and Women’s Hospital in Vancouver, BC.

Jen has served on the board of  the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC)/BC and is currently on the 2018 IABC World Conference Program Advisory Committee. She holds an undergraduate degree from Acadia University, Wolfville, N.S., an MA in Journalism from the University of Western Ontario, an MBA from Royal Roads University in Victoria, BC and is PROSCI® Change Management Certified. Connect with her at www.linkedin.com/in/jenniferhamiltongroup

Rick Sim

Rick is a results-oriented professional who applies more than 30 years’ experience to quickly assess an   organization’s situation and past performance. Rick is a registered mentor with Futurpreneur / Canadian Youth   Business Foundation (CYBF) and is actively involved in supporting amateur sports as a director with the   Vancouver Meraloma Club. He has also worked over ten years as a roster consultant with the Business   Development Bank of Canada (BDC).

Rick has served on the Board of Directors of Vancouver Island Brewing Company and the Vancouver Folk Music Festival. He has a diploma in finance from the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) and an MBA from Royal Roads University.
